Read “I Like Me” and have students draw a self-portrait. Then on parents’ night (or allow them to take home) and have parents create an acrostic with the student’s name. They should add positive words that describe their child https://rich-palms-login.com/.
Use a hand help mirror to draw self portraits. This is one of my favorite activities because all you need are some dry-erase markers and a mirror. Not to mention I just love watching how the kids enjoy pulling funny faces in the mirrors.
This “All About Me” curriculum is just what I needed. I purchased one from another group and although it was great and helpful it was not broken down like the one that Joy and her team has created for us. I can now click a button and get all the crafts, songs, center set up, and more!!

The Hunger Games are a series of young adult dystopian novels written by American author Suzanne Collins. The series consists of a trilogy that follows teenage protagonist Katniss Everdeen, with a prequel set 64 years before the original series. The Hunger Games universe is a dystopia set in Panem, a North American country consisting of the wealthy Capitol and 13 districts in varying states of poverty.
The prequel was adapted for film, with Francis Lawrence as the director. The film was produced by Lawrence himself alongside Nina Jacobson, and Brad Simpson with Suzanne Collins as one of the executive producers. The cast includes Tom Blyth as Coriolanus Snow, Rachel Zegler as Lucy Gray Baird, and Hunter Schafer as Tigris Snow. It was released on November 17, 2023.
They spend days growing closer in a cave, but Katniss lacks the skill to cure Peeta’s wound. When the Gamemakers announce that a “feast” will be held to draw the tributes together for crucial supplies, she tricks Peeta and heads to the feast. In trying to get her gift, which she assumes is anti-infection medicine for Peeta, she is almost killed by a Career, but saved by the other tribute from Rue’s district. Having heard of Katniss’s kindness towards Rue, the tribute lets her live.
All 24 of the tributes are transported to the arena to fight it out. Katniss is on her own at first, but then she discovers that Peeta has teamed up with the Career Tributes – the strong kids from the rich districts in Panem who actually want to go to the Hunger Games. They eventually corner her in a tree, but she drops a tracker jacker nest on them (that’s like a genetically mutated killer wasp) and scores a bow and arrow in the process.
The series is set in the nation of Panem, which is divided into 12 districts, each specializing in a different trade. District 1 is closest to the Capitol, and as the districts get further away from the Capitol, they become less favored by Capitol officials and more impoverished. District 1 is the wealthiest of the districts of Panem, and it specializes in luxury. District 2 is in charge of masonry and defense. District 3 specializes in technology and electronics. District 4 is the coastal district and specializes in fishing. District 5 specializes in electrical power. District 6 specializes in transportation. District 7 specializes in lumber. District 8: textiles. District 9: grain. District 10: livestock. District 11: agriculture. District 12, which Katniss Everdeen calls home, is the least favored and poorest of them all; it specializes in coal mining. There once was an even unluckier district that specialized in nuclear weaponry. District 13 was bombed and supposedly destroyed at the end of the Dark Days war. However, as Katniss later discovers, the people of District 13 have been hiding, planning rebellion.

A weekly game night at All About Games. Always a good turnout of 20 to 25 people. (Most of them are not on meetup but are still very friendly towards newcomers.) I will be bringing my usual assortment of games but there are always plenty of others that bring their collections as well. The store also has some demo copies of various games.

Real-time games create a sense of urgency as you must make decisions and take actions within a set time limit. These games have fast-paced gameplay, requiring quick thinking and rapid responses to changing situations.
Why we love it: Set in the original trilogy era of Star Wars, Outer Rim lets you play as a smuggler, a scoundrel, or a bounty hunter—or all three—as you travel between various wretched hives of scum and villainy in search of Fame. Playing as classic Star Wars characters is obviously a treat, but our favorite aspect of Outer Rim is that it doesn’t promote the cutthroat, relationship-destroying competitiveness of games like Catan or Risk. You’re all playing for Fame, but it’s not a zero-sum resource. There’s no need to attack other players. You can if you want to—you are a scoundrel, after all—but there’s equal benefit to helping others. Despite its complexity, the game is also easy to pick up and exceptionally well balanced; over a few dozen games, the winners never finished more than a few Fame points higher than the “losers.”
Break out the gloves! It’s time to perform a little surgery. The object of the game is to remove all of the pieces from the patient using a pair of tweezers. If you aren’t careful and the tweezers hit the side of the patient, the game will buzz, indicating it’s the next player’s turn to try.
Lots of games that revolve around grabbing territory tend to involve the kind of tentative alliances and festering enmities that mimic real-world diplomacy. Back in 1977, the designers of Cosmic Encounter had a brainwave: Why not get rid of the territory and cut to the chase? The result is this hilarious game of shifting alliances where every player has a game-breaking alien power to leverage in the race to win colonies on five of your opponent’s planets. Crammed with variety, tactical decisions and more dramatic reversals than a prime-time soap opera, Cosmic Encounter may be the only negotiation game you need.
Wexler has invented and licensed over 120 games and toys, including but not limited to the Rodney Dangerfield board game “No Respect.” In 2020, his son David sued Hasbro for allegedly stealing his idea to create mash-ups of games in their catalog. They ended up releasing a few, including a Candy Land/Connect 4 game.
